Phentermine and Weight Loss
Phentermine is not just any weight loss pill you might see on a commercial or in your local pharmacy. It is a prescribed medication to help aid in the weight loss of individuals who have shown the inability to lose weight with diet and exercise alone. Phentermine should not be used by itself for weight loss, but in conjunction with a doctor-approved exercise, a healthy, reduced-calorie diet, and behavior change. Phentermine has been shown to increase the production of leptin; a hormone that helps regulate energy balance by inhibiting hunger. In addition to decreasing appetite, phentermine has been shown to increase the resting energy expenditure; meaning, it increases the amount of energy your body uses, thus burning more fat.
Metformin and Weight Loss
Metformin is a weight loss pill typically prescribed to obese type 2 diabetic patients. However, a doctor can prescribe Metformin as a weight loss pill to individuals who are not necessarily prediabetic or diabetic. Metformin is believed to contribute to weight loss by reducing the appetite of the individual taking it. Another benefit of Metformin is that it can also protect against serious issues that come along with type II Diabetes, such as cardiovascular complications. Much like the weight loss pill, Phentermine, Metformin should not be used by itself, but with a healthy diet and doctor-approved exercise.
Vitamin B-12 and Weight Loss
Vitamin B-12 has been seen to increase energy and boost metabolism, in turn aiding in weight loss. Vitamin B-12 can be taken either by injections or supplement pills. Vitamin B-12 helps convert the food we eat into glucose. Since the body has glucose, which is our primary source of energy, the person will experience an increase in energy and productivity. Vitamin B-12 is used in metabolism, especially in the breakdown of glucose.
